Sacred Heart Preschool is a Catholic early childhood program which offers the perfect balance of learning through play and academics in a loving, caring environment. Our preschool teacher is highly qualified with a State of Michigan ZA endorsement in early childhood.
We strive to develop the whole child by providing a curriculum that focuses on nine specific areas.
Spiritual:Provide a Catholic background in which the child learns that God loves them, and God made them a special, unique person.
Social: Provide planned activities which encourage interaction between children and to acquaint children with social skills.
Emotional: Provide a safe, loving and caring environment in which a child can make the separation process from home to school, and when in school can advocate his/her own needs.
Cognitive: Provide activities and materials that stimulate each child’s growth through hands-on concepts.
Language: Models appropriate, rich language usage, and provides planned activities in which the primary goal is for the child to develop and use language.
Physical: Provide children opportunities to use large muscle skills, and experience activities with a variety of manipulatives materials that promote eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
Fine Arts: Provide children with experiences that allow students to make choices from art supplies and different kinds of media; provide children with experiences that lend themselves to music, movement, and drama, and provides centers that are supplied with age appropriate books and puppets.
Construction: Provide a wide array of construction materials for student’s use: blocks, play dough, sand table, and offer open ended activities for children.
Dramatic Play: Provide dramatic play centers with a variety of props for role playing and making real connections.
