COVID-19 and Worship

The directives of the Archdiocese indicate clearly that there is no obligation to participate in Sunday Mass at this time.  All the faithful in the Archdiocese of Detroit are dispensed from their Sunday obligation to attend Mass until Monday, November 23, 2020.  Those older than 65 years, those with compromised health or preexisting conditions, and those who are caring for the sick in any way are encouraged to stay home.  Anyone who is ill, has a temperature, cough or other symptoms should definitely stay home as an act of justice to the whole community.   

As public Masses resume  at Sacred Heart Parish, please observe the following requirements when you participate in Mass.

In General

• Before you leave home, wash your hand in the prescribed way.
• Bring a container of sanitizer for your personal use and, if you wish, a container of wipes to sanitize the area around your seat.  Use hand sanitizer liberally before you receive Communion.
• Masks are required for everyone over 2 years of age.
• Observe social distancing at all times: six feet between you and another person.

Weekday Masses - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 9:00 a.m.

• The church building will open at approximately 8:30 a.m. and be closed shortly after the conclusion of Mass.  
• Approximately 90 seats are available for individuals at a social distance of six feet.  Reservations are not necessary at this time though this may be reevaluated at a later time.

• Reservations are required by calling the parish office or registering on Eventbrite.  Approximately 90 individual seats are available in total allowing for social distancing.
• Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before the beginning of Mass to allow for cleaning of the building.
