Long before tweets, blogs, flocknotes, facebook, myspace, friendster, and yes, even before email there existed a time honored mode of communication. A newsletter. 

At Sacred Heart High, a mimeographed typewritten newsletter was introduced during the 1954-55 school year. It was called  “The Excalibur”, apparently based on a  very early newsletter of the same name, first issue recently found from 1924. And though the newsletter changed style with new technology and even changed names a few times during those rebellious 1960’s and 70’s , it remained an avenue for student information and expression.  And when the alumni association came about in 1996, it just seemed right to name the alumni newsletter “The Excalibur”.

Pick a year and move back in time with a high school Excalibur and revisit the fun, joy, drama and angst of students way-back-when.    Or select an Alumni Excalibur and catch up on friends you once knew.  If you see a year that is missing, don’t despair. Inquire. Our parish museum sometimes receives copies not yet connected here. Enjoy!
