Catholic Heart Work Camp - Besiege With Love - Testimonies
This is Paul, and this was my seventh and final Mission Trip. To keep this brief, I went on the Mission Trip for one purpose: to help my sister feel better during some very rough times she's going through, and currently, it looks like my efforts were a success. I'm so thankful that many people, including complete strangers and even a few members of this group, had some beautiful words of encouragement for her that are written in a notebook so that she can look back on them. As for myself, I didn't go into the Mission Trip for myself, so I didn't personally get much out of it, but my favorite part would definitely be Four Corners, as it gave me a chance to sort of unleash my worries about my sister, and be assured that there's only so much I can do before God has to take over. Thanks for making my last Mission Trip epic!
Hi my name is Tim Zoski and this was my first experience at Catholic Heart Workcamp. It was an excellent experience and really opened my eyes to the love of God and shown me how important that others and myself are to God. This week my work group worked at the Daily Bread soup kitchen and did odd jobs at our resident Maurice's house. We had a lot of fun doing service of God and we were proud to see the difference we were able to make in the community. My favorite part of the week was during the amazing experience I had at the Four Corners. It really brought me in touch with my faith and taught me that God really is always there. This trip showed me that going out and doing service as Jesus did really was a great way to go back to my roots of faith. The work that I did really helped me be reconnect with God.
I'm Katie Knuth and this is my 1st mission trip. With my group we went to a resident's house and tore down her shed in the backyard and painted the rooms in her house. We also did yard work. This week has made me realize how privileged I am. I now truly understand the love God has for me and everyone else. My favorite part of the week was the Four Corners prayer experience.
I'm Alexis Cser. This is actually my first mission trip that I've gone on. I worked at Empty Tomb where we helped the homeless, and or people that cannot provide for themselves. My favorite part of this week was probably 4 corners. I think this because it really helped me open and made me feel like I had worth. This has affected the way I see God because in the worst of people God brings them out and helps them see the good in themselves even if they can't see the good in themselves.
Our 2017 Mission Trip plans begin on September 15 when CHWC opens up the camps for registrations. There is always a limit to the number of participants from all across the U.S. able to register before the camps fill up. This is definitely something totally worthwhile that will for sure change you for the good! Contact me at the Parish to find out more information. ~Julie Wieleba-Milkie
