This was my fifth mission trip as adult chaperone. I enjoyed a "behind the scenes" look at CHWC this year as a camp staff assistant. I helped with meal preparations, went on photo runs to a variety of work sites, and was able to attend a staff meeting to see how the camp activities were planned and completed.
My favorite part of this week was being able to see the great variety of service projects completed during the week. Project sites included the homes of seniors, Kennekuk County Park, Catholic Churches, a Catholic Cemetery, Soup kitchens and food pantries, and non profit agencies for housing. We really made a difference in so many lives this week! One person remarked, "People just kept coming and the work was awesome!
The heart of God was being poured out at all these sites. We are blessed beyond belief. They brought dignity and respect to places they'll never know. Remember what you reap is what you have sown!"
