Sacred Heart is entrusted with fine facilities which it uses to build up the kingdom of God on earth. We strive to maintain our facilities to be welcoming and accessible, to be inspirational and to foster the spiritual growth of our community.
Sacred Heart Church, built in 1929, stands as a landmark at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Military Street in Dearborn. The inspirational architecture truly proclaims the glory of God and calls us to worship. A new bell system, installed in 2004, as a gift from Fr. Jack Child, former pastor and current weekend associate, invites our community to worship with us.
Parish Offices are located at 912 South Military Street, next to the parish hall. Parking is available behind the building and in the circular drive next to it. There is ramp access to the front (east) entrance.
Sacred Heart Catholic School occupies two buildings on campus. The Garrisson Building, originally serving as the parish high school, along with the Michigan Building, provide exceptional facilities for pre-K-8th grade Catholic education.
The Parish Hall has a catering style kitchen appropriate for keeping warm food which has been prepared elsewhere. (It is not a commercially licensed kitchen.) Barrier free access to the building invites all to participate in community activities. Used primarily for parish functions, the Hall is available for private parishioner use (with usage fees), once parish events have been scheduled. The Hall accommodates approximately 240 people seated at tables. Inquiries may be made at the Parish Office.
The Parish Library is located in the Hall. It contains a small collection of books of Catholic interest and provides a quiet place for reading, group discussions or meetings.
The Parish Museum, also in the Hall, near the Library, contains archives and mementos from our long history.
The Priest's Residence, built in 1924, is located adjacent to the Church building. This building is a private residence. Contact with the parish priest should always be made through the parish office.
