Right to Life - LIFESPAN is a non-profit, non-denominational and non-political organization dedicated to the protection of vulnerable human life from conception through natural death.
LIFESPAN's members respect the dignity of all human life. They endorse and support efforts to enrich the lives of the mentally and physically impaired, the infirm and the aged. Its members stand in opposition to society's position that unwanted or burdensome lives of the unborn, those newborn with disabilities, the elderly and the medically dependent can be discarded as a choice.
LIFESPAN seeks to protect human life through a concerted combination of educational, legislative and public awareness programs. Through the active work of its members, LIFESPAN aims at overcoming the anti-life philosophy existing in society. They speak for those who cannot or have trouble speaking for themselves.
Sacred Heart Parish participates in the following pro-life activities each year:
Roe v Wade Anniversary – On January 22, parish members are encouraged to light a candle outside their homes in memory of the unborn victims of abortion.
Mother’s Day Roses – Silk roses are available to parishioners with the message “Thanks Mom, for Life”.
Baby Bottle Drive – Parishioners are encouraged to take a baby bottle and fill it with spare change to support the Lennon Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Used Book Sale – Donations of used books are collected to support the Wee Care Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Life Chain – An event which takes place on the first Sunday in October. Members of our parish join thousands of pro-life people throughout the metropolitan area lining the sidewalks and holding signs bearing pro-life messages.
Pro-Life Christmas Card Sale – Proceeds support Right to Life–Lifespan.
