A Sacramental Information Night for parents for the sacraments of
first reconciliation and holy Eucharist takes place in October to share information about the process to our parents and to help renew their understanding about each of these sacraments at an adult level to help them prepare to work and teacher their children.
Preparation for the sacrament of first reconciliation takes place
prior to the preparation for holy Eucharist. Preparation usually takes place in a child's second grade year, but can occur later if needed. The parent & child session takes place in November and materials are distributed for further preparation on the sacraments to be done at home. Additional preparation is also covered directly with the students in both the Sacred Heart School and Religious Education classes. The celebration of first reconciliation takes place in January.
Preparation for the sacrament of first Eucharist also usually takes place in a child's second grade year, but can occur later if needed. Monthly parent & child sessions begin in January and continue through March along with materials being distributed for further preparation on the sacrament to be done at home. Additional preparation, including a Church Tour, is also covered directly with the families led by our Confirmation Candidates on a Sunday afternoon in February. The celebration of first holy Eucharist takes place on the Third Sunday of Easter.
