...but we have an active one. Sacred Heart Youth Ministry provides opportunities to be involved in many different ways for high school teens in grades 9-12, to continue to live their faith and to grow in their relationships with God and one another.
We are called PHYSH--Praying & Helping Youth of Sacred Heart.
We have monthly gatherings throughout the year to socialize, learn, pray, share, and serve. We have pretty regular social and service activities with other parishes too. Some of us go to youth conference--the CYO Rainbow Youth Conference held in downtown Detroit on a weekend in February and bi-annually in the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) held somewhere in the U.S. as a national gathering for Catholic high schools teens--AND some on an annual summer mission trip. Right now we have a group planning to attend World Youth Day in 2016 in Krakow, Poland!
We participate in many Christian Service opportunities throughout the year as well (see Christian Service). On a given weekend in March, a Spring retreat (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) is held annually for high schoolers at the Benedictine Subiaco Retreat Center in Oxford, Michigan, together with youth from other area parishes.
WE KNOW YOU ARE BUSY, and your schedules don't always make regular commitments possible. You DON"T have to do anything in particular, or know anything (or anyone) special. Come when you can. Come as you are. We'd love to see you.
(Now take a couple minutes to check the tabs on side menu to learn some more about what we do.)
