Sacred Heart Youth Ministry

Our mission is to walk with our young people to help them find their place in the life, vision, and mission of our Sacred Heart Parish community. Our goal is to ensure that young people of our parish become disciples of Jesus Christ and actively witness their faith. Every adult is responsible for guiding and welcoming young people as complete & equal members of our faith community.

Greetings and welcome to the Wonderful World of Youth Ministry!
Here at Sacred Heart, we are blessed to have some active and very enthusiastic groups of youth within our parish family.

Our High School Youth Ministry program is open to all students, grades 9-12. We meet throughout the year at different times; we hang out, we laugh, we talk about what’s going in the world around us. We engage in service experiences at the parish and within the wider community.  Our activities are so varied that you are almost guaranteed to find what you are looking for within this group. We do service (locally such as the annual MLK Service Day (see video below) as well as in another state [see Mission Trip], we do fun – and some of our high school teens are on their way to becoming world-wide travelers (check out the World Youth Day info.) We do it all, and we do it knowing that God is the reason that we can.  See 2022-23 Calendar of High School events.

Our Middle School Youth Ministry program is open to all students, grades 6-8. We meet during the school year usually on a monthly Friday afterschool from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. If you are looking to have some fun (in a church, who would have thought?!?!) – then this is the place for you!  See 2022-23 Middle School Event Calendar.

Our F.I.R.E. Youth Ministry program is open to all 4^th & 5^th grade students.  We also meet during the school year usually on a Friday afterschool every other month from 3:45 PM – 5:30 PM. We try to focus on ways in which we can serve our community and have fun at the same time!  See the 2022-23 FIRE event calendar.

Sacred Heart Youth Ministry has a very “open-door” policy. We aren’t looking for a commitment; we actually aren’t looking for anything at all.  Believe me, I know how busy you are. You have sports, you have clubs, you have lessons (not to mention the amount of homework you come home with each night!) We are just interested in getting to know you and to give you a place where you can feel comfortable and welcome.

I hear a lot of people say that “the youth are the future of our church” – Our goal, though, is to bring that statement into the present tense--here at Sacred Heart, though, the youth are also very much a part of our church today.  Yes, the youth are also the future of our church. But we don’t hide in the background of the happenings of everyday life and wait for it to be our turn. We are right there, up front, showing the world what we’ve got.
